2021-22 Covid Protocols

     

    COVID-19 Protocols - effective October 6, 2022

    General

    Masks covering nose and mouth are strongly encouraged for players and staff on and off the ice regardless of being vaccinated or not vaccinated per CDC and MDH guidelines.

    Fully vaccinated people may choose to wear a mask in any situation where it feels needed, regardless of whether others around them are masked.

    Anyone who is not fully vaccinated, including children ages 2 and older, should continue to wear well-fitted facemasks, in all areas of the curling facility.

    When wearing a mask is impractical or impossible maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet from others at all times as much as possible.

    Do not come into the building if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms that may include but are not limited to fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or headache.

    A member who tests positive should follow current CDC guidelines found at https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/basics.html.

    Non-curling visitors and spectators are permitted and are encouraged to follow masking guidelines as outlined above. Please remain socially distanced as much as possible.

    Locker rooms may be used for changing clothes, however, use common sense to socially distance as necessary.

    Game Play

    Five sheets of ice will be scheduled to play each draw. All games will begin at the end of the arena closest to the lobby. Maintain social distancing as much as possible during games.

    Games will be 8 ends however stop earlier if necessary to end on time. Normal tiebreaker rules apply (one stone per team).

    Hammer and stone color will be determined by the Thirds through a normal coin flip.

    Two sweepers are allowed per stone thrown.

    Handle only your two designated stones as much as possible. Winning team will sweep the ice as usual. Use of sanitizing wipes to clean the rock handles, broom handles is available but is optional.
